About Me
Hi, I’m Julia
Here are a few things to describe me as a person: Artistic, spiritual, logical, analytical, empathic, open minded with a strong desire to help others.
Do any of these characteristics resonate with you?
I have such a love for all things artistic or creative; from design to drawing, tattoos and crafting. I love to create and see others creations. On the flip side of my whimsical artistic personality is a highly analytical and logical person. One who likes to weigh everything out and has a knack for organization and streamlining processes. I also love nature and being close to any body of water, but especially the ocean. I strongly connect with my dog and feel comfort in his presence and enjoy playing and spending time with him, regardless of his stubborn ways!
What brings me here today? The feather often represents strength and growth, as well as hope and freedom. Feather’s Journey derives from the idea that in my own personal experience I’ve needed great strength to achieve growth; I have had to have hope in order to fly freely. But admittedly, my journey has often left me walking alone. Because of that, I have hungered for so long to find a path to helping others and watching them soar. To let every person know – YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
I have specifically chosen my coaching areas of focus to coincide with my own personal “story”. In the spirit of connection and understanding, I will briefly touch on some of these experiences.
From early childhood, I struggled with loneliness, severe anxiety, and depression. I then suffered almost insurmountable losses in my teenage years which exacerbated these feelings alongside experiencing grief. Throughout my life, I have lost many friends and family members and have a good understanding of many different types of loss. I understand that grief doesn’t end when the services are over, or even when people say it should end. It is an ongoing lifelong process and can present in many ways throughout time and for different people.
In my adult years, I became a stepmom to a special needs son. Step-parenting comes with many challenges and rewards. Watching my stepson grow from the age of 4 into a teenager, overcoming some of his daily struggles, helping to guide him through his childhood has given me more joy than I could ever express. Challengingly, my husband and I have dealt with a high conflict ex. This can create more difficulties in the child and in the parenting dynamic in general. In seeking out groups or information on step-parenting, especially in the early years, I found resources lacking on the topic; leaving me feeling confused and frustrated and wanting more.
Finally, in both youth and adult years, I have had experience with and have been exposed to many examples of unconventional relationship types as well as family dynamics. I can understand the struggles of living an often-misunderstood lifestyle. I am a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community with an open mind and heart and believe there are no rules or restrictions on love.
Whatever may have called you here, let me help you in finding your inner strength and positivity in the hopes of creating a more enjoyable and meaningful life. Tapping into my resources and passion to help spread peace and contentment in a world that presents many challenges for us to face.
