Welcome to the Feather’s Journey blog by Julia, your professional (and soon to be certified) Grief, Step Parent and Mindset coach. WHAT DOES COACHING EVEN MEAN???? Coaching is a co-creative process which lets the Client be in the driver’s seat each session and direct the Coach where to go. I have heard it said that you can think of therapy like pulling out the weeds and coaching like helping a flower to blossom. For me, it means that I work with adults seeking clarity and understanding to navigate life after sudden loss, step parents to parent powerfully with respect and love and lastly, working to bridge the gap between where you’re stuck in negative patterns of thinking to having a more positive outlook. The goal is to have as little to no disconnect between what you imagine for or of yourself to the reality as such.
I have a true and undeniable passion to use my life’s experiences, transforming them to become a tool in helping others. I also have an insatiable hunger to understand the human mind and what drives thoughts and actions. I enjoy researching and learning about these topics and have used my studies to gain more knowledge to better my coaching. I focused on grief, step parenting and mindset all because they have meaning and relevance to my own life. I believe this parallel gives me the unique opportunity to empathize while helping to propel my clients forward. Though no two people will or could ever experience things ‘the same’, there is a deep level of connection between those with a mutual understanding.
The purpose and what you should expect from reading the blog posts is to share as much as possible. So, what do I really mean when using the vague language of “share as much as possible”? This is, my experiences, my knowledge, my opinions, and anything I have inside me which is relevant and interesting to my readers. I would like to cover topics ranging from mental health to my areas of coaching focus. I look forward to suggestions on my social media pages or through my contact page at www.feathersjourney.com which will provide me with the guidance of what my audience REALLY wants to hear about! Of course, I will also cover my own topics, but what’s most important is keeping my readers engaged and interested in what’s coming next!
